We are situated in the centre of Birmingham. 2 minutes walk from Snow hill railway station and 5 minutes from New street railway station. We have taken possession of 2 large railway arches with the intention of creating a state of the art world beating bouldering centre...succeeded. Bendcrete have built and installed the climbing walls. Problems will be set by Britain's best problem setters

All children under the age of 14 must be supervised by a registered over 18 or by one of our instructors.

Children aged 14 to 18 may register to use the centre unsupervised after fulfilling the following:

  1. Parental consent given
  2. Parental visit mandatory to have a briefing by centre staff
  3. Parent/guardian to fill out consent forms

After this "Green Card" status will be given.


Children's Birthday Parties

£60 per hour with up to 6 climbing supervised by an instructor. Emphasis on having a fun time. Cost includes free use of an upstairs area to have a party.

Please note that outdoor footwear is not permitted in the bouldering area however pumps will be provided free of charge for clubs, taster sessions and parties.

Conditions of Use

  1. All users over the age of 18 must fill in a registration form before climbing
  2. Under 18's must be supervised closely by a registered adult at all times. Exception being given to "green card" over 14's
  3. No outdoor shoes to be worn whilst bouldering
  4. No drinks or food in climbing area.


Bouldering General Saftey

  • Report to reception on each visit before you climb.
  • You must exercise care, common sense and self preservation at all times.
  • Report any problems with the walls, equipment or other climbers' behaviour to a member of staff immediately.
  • Be aware of the other climbers around you and how your actions will affect them.
  • Do not distract people while they are climbing.



  • Always climb within your capabilities and descend by down climbing, jumping or, at the very least, a controlled fall.
  • Never climb directly above or below another climber.
  • Don't sit or stand under the wall when people are bouldering.
  • Problems finish on the last obvious hold. DO NOT grab or touch the top of the wall, or any girders, metalwork or lights.
  • Don't boulder with hardware hanging on your clothes or chalk bag.
  • Keep the mat free of objects and obstructions like bags, clothing, chalk bags, brushes, shoes etc. No food or drink on the mats.

To become a member of Birmingham Bouldering Centre you must have prior experience climbing at an indoor wall and be a confident climber. It doesn't matter what grade you climb, just that you're happy in an indoor environment. If you're visiting us for the first time and wish to become a member then you can download the registration form and fill it in beforehand to speed up the process and either email it us at info@birminghamboulderingcentre.com or bring it with you. Please read the centres conditions of use first.


Under 18s

If you're above 14 but under 18, you can also become a junior member of Birmingham Bouldering Centre but first you must pass a Under 18 climbing assessment. Please call us on 0121 236 0533 to find out more details and book an assessment. You can download the U18 registration form ( which must be filled out by a parent or legal guardian) here. Please read the Conditions of Use first. (All under 18s must be accompanied to the assessment with a legal parent or guardian)

  • The offer is only open to registered users of Birmingham Bouldering Centre. Registration costs 5.00
  • The voucher entitles the user to climb at Birmingham Bouldering Centre from 1st to 30th November 2012 at the special offer rate of 4.00 per user visit.
  • The entry fee for all other dates remains as advertised.
  • There is no limit on the number of user / visits between the above dates.
  • There is no time limit and the offer applies to peak and off-peak sessions.
  • The offer does not include hire of equipment or any other services offered by Birmingham Bouldering Centre.
  • Birmingham Bouldering Centre reserves the right to withdraw this offer, if in the opinion of the Centre manager, any individuals actions might potentially lead to or actually endanger the health and enjoyment of others.
